The Parable of the Widow's Mite

The Parable of the Widow's Mite

I love this story.  I love the true story of little Hattie who gave all she had, and the Lord multiplied it immensely to the good of His Church.  God is good... all the time!

If you can upload this picture onto your computer and then print it off on one sheet.  I printed it on sturdy construction paper, beige color so that it can then be colored.

I took Pringle containers that we got at Costco and cut out the top a slit for money to be inserted.
Have the kids color their pages, then we hot glued them onto the containers.  Now, the children can take them home and save money for church.  A wonderful way to encourage children to give to the Lord!

The Parable of the Prodigal Son

The Parable of the Prodigal Son

I love this craft.  Help the kids trace their hands and cut them out of paper.  Use a glue stick to apply them to a piece of construction paper.  I went ahead and printed off the heads of each child and cut them out.  Glue the head to the back and then glue the story of the Prodigal Son inside.  Have each child decorate their hands... fingernail polish... rings... watches...  Then, when you put the hands together, glue them into a hug.  Just as the Prodigal Son's Father hugged him when he came back home, so does our Heavenly Father hug us as we enter into His gates.  How wonderful that will be!
What fun!
If you can, pull this off and just apply it to a page.  Print however many you need, cut them out and have the kids glue them within the arms.
I printed these on card stock and cut them out for the kids to apply to their own individual arms.
This is just an additional page.  Print one off and if visiting kids show up, they can draw their own face on the other side and cut them out to apply to their arms.

The Parable of Building Your House Upon the Rock

Print this off on card stock and go ahead and cut them out before the class.  Cut on solid lines and score the dotted lines to fold.
Hopefully you can see how it's folded to make the house.  Also, I put a hole punch on the roof and inserted yarn for the kids to hang their houses.

The Parable of the Sower

The Parable of the Sower

I took a regular sized poster board and put in the good soil, weeds, the path and the rocks.  As you can see, the good soil gets 10 points, the others subtract points, and if the beans fall off the poster board, there are no points added.  Divide into teams or as individuals and play the game.  Have the kids toss the beans onto the board and add up the points.

Put the board up against the door or a wall.  It's really hard to get the seed onto the board otherwise.  This way it can bounce off the wall and fall onto the board.
